Below is a link to overuse of N in Thailand and Phillipines, Ok so its authored by Greenpeace, but an interesting read all the way through,

http://209.85.175.104/search?q=cache:Eomo-...t=clnk&cd=5

If it still dont work, copy and paste into a google search, It goes on to explain the overuse and effects,

It also brings to mind farming from Falang Land, "darling, send more money, crop need more vitimin, make grow good, make lot money next year ect ect"

Dom, could you delete 1st 2 of my posts please, but keep same thread title please, Thanks mate, Lickey,

Just recieved an e-mail from a friend and also a thai farmer, basically saying, you use N on your crops, and use it in the right quantities, so whats the problem if Thais "overdose" there crops? and what made you post something like this? I told him to read reply here.

What made me post this? ok, i see an article on BBC world news that the recent Missisipi floods in USA have washed all the nitrates off the land, and created a dead zone in the gulf of mexico the size of New Jersey, is that some 89000 sq mile?

And yes, i do use N as a fertilizer, but in the correct quantities, I fertilise the banana, papaya, cassava, and recently had to use ant/snail/mealybug insecticides to control these problems.what i am worried about is that the rain runoff from the farm goes into neighbours fishpond.

What im trying to say is that you falang farmers could be sharing the same water table as your poluting neighbour,

Other than very bad to drink this water, bad for fish ect, does anybody know whatelse its bad for?

Thanks Lickey.
