Believe most good hospitals have qualified specialists but I have had very good treatment at Vejthani Hospital with modern equipment. Last visit was to Dr.Chaiprasit Balmongkol who I suspect is helped by his study in UK for those with Caucasian skin. Can say have had no grow back of any spots he treated. But have not had any confirmed cancer recently.

Believe it starts at about 500 baht for CO2 laser removal with it going down by the number of spots to be removed. They will tell you the price before they start. Allow an extra 30 minutes or more if you do not want to have needle injection to numb the area (cream takes longer). I found the needle just a pin prick and not really hurt. This is a very clean removal on table in an operating room environment (unlike the stand still hand held CO2 canisters I experienced at the most expensive hospital).

To give an idea on price I had 2 Solar keratoses removed by laser earlier this year at a clinic near the food franchises and shop that sells model aircraft in MBK. The doctor identified a misdiagnosis by my British GP. My GP had identified one as Seborrhoeic keratoses.

The doctor at this clinic had an impressive list of qualification certificates on the wall of his office.

The procedure took a few minutes and was painless. The local anesthetic injection was the only thing I felt and a pin prick like Lopburi3 mentioned. To my surprise there was no stinging or hurt after the treatment or during the healing period.

I received burn cream and dressing and true to his word the 50 satung sized areas healed within the 3 to 6 weeks he said.

The cost was just under B 1,200.

l have had several "growths" removed over the years ,, all have been done in an operating theatre back home , with me out like a light ,,,,,, l am not familiar with laser removal ,,, does it cut out all the "growth" ?? and is a biopsy done with the removed growth ?? sorry to burden you with these questions Lopburi3 but as always ,, your help is much appreciated

I hope you don’t mind me offering some thoughts.

The first thing you need to do is identify what your wart like lesion is and that can only be done by a qualified person. They will suggest the best method of treatment.

I’ve had suspect moles removed by surgery and that allows a biopsy to be done.

For my Solar keratoses it was suggested I either have them removed by liquid nitrogen or laser. These rely on the doctor’s experience and from what my GP told me doesn’t leave a sample that can be tested afterwards.

In the case of the laser treatment this is definitely true as the affected area disappears in a puff of smoke. The specialist who performed my laser treatment told me he preferred this method over liquid nitrogen as the laser is more accurate thereby causing less damage.

If your specialist suggests treatment by laser surgery don’t be worried like I initially was. The procedure is so quick and painless.

your thoughts are welcome and appreciated Farma ,,,,l have had a couple of these things removed by surgery , the first l was watching as the surgeon did the job ,,, a hel_l of a lot more comes out than what you see from the outside ,,, l think that is why it will have to be cut out and not burnt ,, the Solar Keratoses have also been cut out (with some skin drafts done) as were deemed to far gone to be burnt ,,,, l think an appointment or two at a Bangkok hospital will be the first step and as you say let the pro's decide ,,,,

My skin doctor is Paritas Sukriket at Samitivej Hospital on Sukhumvit Soi 49. He is an extremely knowledgeable, confidence-inspiring and trustworthy doctor and gentleman. I can recommend him wholeheartedly. He immediately identified some spots on my skin as basal cell carcinoma after years of mis-diagnosis by other dermatologists in Bangkok. I visit him once or twice a year just for screening checks. Skin cancer is one of those diseases that, if caught early enough, can be remedied.
