anyone else getting this frequently?

i even have the biz connect and my modem is synched. im allowed to get my ip address.. but theres no net.. its like the only connectivity i have is with the central, and its blocked from there..

for hours at a time

Might just be a rumor and normal outage but thats how I was told it.

for the past week my TOT ADSL service has sucked.

for most of the day it seems like it slows to below dialup speed (i'm getting 33-36kbps when I can even get a speed meeter to load and complete) lots of time outs and lately (since TOT makes me use their smtp server) I can't send to a gmail account. Period!

anyone else having these problems?

TT&T Maxnet has been very poor these past 3 or 4 days. Thailand speed checks clock great, but speed tests to Seattle are all over the place.

TOT has been down in the office since yesterday.... TOT said it will be down for around 3 days as the one of lines was cut....

Thus some people in Phuket get TOT and some dont

I did call to them to commplain (they logged my name and #, a first for me, and i'm glad they did)

The story I got was that the loop line around the island got severed with only 20-30% of it still being functional (think back to when the undersea cables got severed off Taiwan) service will be spotty but they're working on it.

That's what I got from the TOT tech over the phone. (part in parenthesizes is my 2 stang)

I get it too here in Kamala. I don't believe its a cut line at all but rather some very poorly configured networks. It's an intermitant problem that seems to surface when you get a DHCP lease from one particular server. You can ping their Default Gateway but have no connectivity beyond that. Either the routing table is screwed on one of their hubs or some techy has an itchy finger and keeps turning it off.

Internet users, who are usually connected by the Telephone Organisation of Thailand or TOT in Phuket, on Wednesday and Thursday faced difficulties to access the Internet as the Hi-speed internet - ADSL was down. The TOT Phuket Customer Service Manager Anirut Uthairat explained to Andaman News that the bandwidth was narrower due to a broken part of the fibre optic cable in Ranong province. This resulted in a delay of internet for many locations, and was not involved with any protesters. The Phuket office has reported the complaints to Ranong and requested a speed up of repairs. The network at our office, NBT station resumed to normal at around 3pm yesterday. Mr. Anirut said their centre received over 200 calls from clients requesting information or fixing repairs. In Phuket around 15,000 clients use TOT Internet. Users are advised to call 1177 followed by their telephone number which is registered to connect to the internet.

Yea my TOT line has been off and on more often than a bar girls knickers. Maybe if we all demanded a rebate on our next bill they will do something about this crap service. Just dreaming out loud.
