samuibeachcomber Posted September 7, 2008 Share Posted September 7, 2008 when football in the UK had some passion.I used to love the home championship between england,scotland,wales and northern ireland.Players really wanted to play for their country.Remember the scots coming to wembley or england having to play up at hampden park in front of a 120,000 fanatical scotsmen,no women at matches then,just fathers and sons. And today,there's little allegiance left,players dont want to commit to playing for england anymore,the premier league has become too important(champions league too)afraid of injury and losing their place in premier league side.
