Australian Citizens Obtain Uk Visa In Thailand

Featured Replies

My friend and I are Australian Citizens looking to obtain a working holiday Visa for the UK in Thailand. We have contacted the British Embassy in Australia to make our application - however as we will not be in Australia in the 3 months prior to entering the UK, they are unable to process it.

Our current itinery is to travel throughout Thailand and South East Asia for approximately 4 months before entering the UK. We are booked to arrive in Bangkok in November, and fly from Bangkok to London in March. We plan to be travelling to Thailand on a Tourist Visa, as we will be volunteering in an orphanage for a short period of time and travelling for the rest.

We have sent e-mails with no replys and tried to call the British Embassy in Thailand, but with bad reception and the operator not speaking fluent English, we are still not sure what we can do.

We greatly appreciate your help and any advice you can offer in what we need to do to make this possible. :o

According to the visa officers own instructions, the embassy in Bangkok is only bound to consider application from Thai citizens or nationals of other countries who have more than a visitor status in Thailand.

Try sending the embassy an e-mail at visaenquiries.bangkok[at]fco.gov.uk

Scouse.

Thats interesting, as I got my UK Ancestry Visa renewed late last year. They did tell me to bring the old one. so I would say that renewal is Ok, but a new Visa, you might have trouble.
