Where To Buy Dinnerware?

Recommended Posts

Hi there!

Newbie in Pattaya here.

Does anyone know where I can buy fine dinnerware, bone china?

Went to few "Royale porcelaine" stores and few big department stores in BangKok, but did not like the designs and quality of dishes and others.

Is there any shop in Pattaya sells nice fine bone china dinnerware?

Not looking for Wedgewood or Noritake but would love to buy some nice fine ones.

Wish I can bring few sets from home but afraid of shipping.

Thanks for the help.

Sorry to be negative, but if you couldn't find what you wanted in Bangkok. it is very unlikely that you will find it in Pattaya, as there is a very limited demand for that kind of quality dinnerware in this city.

Bangkok have a lot of quality department stores and specialist stores that cater for the middle/upper class market,( Central Chidlom. Paragon, Emporium for example),but you will find little or nothing like that in 'sin city'.

The best you will do here is Index, but I doubt that would meet your requirements.

Could give the Lotus Crystal factory at Rayong a try, they often have decent ranges at good prices and usually a sale Oct/Nov time. There is also a kitchenware shop next to Foodland on Pattaya Klang looks to have a good selection of dinnerware, although not looked at it in the shop only spied it through the windows when passing.

With all due respect, I know the shop next to Foodland, and I feel it will fall far below the OP's requested standards.

As I said, Index on Sukhumvit has a large selection of quite pricey, quality dinnerware, some of it very nice. In fact I bought quite a bit there a few years ago and it set me back a bob or two.

But the best fine boneware china is in the major upmarket stores in Bangkok, and if that doesn't meet the Op's expectations then I doubt he will find it anywhere in LOS.

^ As Mobi states Bangkok would by far be the easiest place, on the opposite side of the road and opposite to Emporium there a couple of good shops.

Would have agreed with you, but a few weeks ago the store was revamped and they have a few bone china services that are respectable. However, they are to order and I think they expect you to buy complete sets or multiple items, probably targeted at the classier hotel/restaurant trade. Worth taking a look I think.
