There is a music mag called Uncut which puts out a free CD most months with covers of songs on. This month it is the whole of the Beatles White Album covered.

Check out Cat Powers cover of Satisfaction

The Ukelele Orchestra of Great Britain covering Anarchy in the UK

Nouvelle Vague doing the Clash's Guns of Brixton

Jonny Cashs cover of Hurt by 9 inch nails is a classic

Cheers for that, I'll check out some of those. Have to say I prefer Nine Inch Nails' version of Hurt.

Ooops sorry The Magazine is actually MOJO from the UK. And the White Album is covered over two months as it is a double album. Still top quality though

That's weird, when I clicked to that site from Google, I had no problem listening to it.

But when I copy and pasted the link to the page itself, I would need to register to listen. Weird.

OK click on this google link and then click the first result, the song should load and play.

Enjoy! (lol just wanted to say that)

Well, for me some of the most interesting cover versions in recent years are on the Paul Anka CD ' Rock Swings'.

Not all the tunes he covers on the CD are a complete detachment from the original songs, but the 'swing' arrangement of the following 3 tracks I thought was impressive (being a fan of the originals and a swing fan).

1. 'Smells Like Teen Spirit" By Nirvana

2. 'Love Cats' by The Cure

3. 'Wonderwall' by Oasis
