Singapore F1 Night Race What Chanel ?

Featured Replies

Night race? Gimmick. Street Circuit? Gimmick. Hopefully no one is killed.

Not sure that a fatality is any more likely at a street circuit. Of course with the concrete barriers they look more dangerous, but i'd be interested to see the statistics. None of the more recent F1 fatalities have been at street circuits anyway.

...And as for Steve Slater, yes he does have his irritating moments, but not in the same league as Murray Walker....

One thing I've noticed is that Slater often doesn't get the point of what his co-presenter says. Slater gives this embarrassed little laugh which he uses to excuse himself of any further comment on what the other guy has just said. It's really quite pathetic.

But he's got the Murray Walker "keep talking at all costs, tell 'em what the driver's previous job was, what he had for breakfast, who he's going to race with next season, ooh there's a shot of his excited wife/girl friend" off to a tee.

Without doubt Murray was the all time most annoying commentator ! Slater just rants out stat after stat after stat and sometimes misses out on overtakings etc etc etc

Anyone else thinking that Steve Slater is trying to win "the most irritating commentator of the year award"....

Granted!

Whew...this guy, mistakes drivers, positions and talks way too much BS!

Jetset I cannot stand those silly f'ing ING adverts ! How many times to they have to have an f'ing advert ??? It is like every 10 minutes !

* bump *

Ready! Steady! ....

Oops - they don't do that, do they.

Perhaps he needs new glasses - he drove over a huge chunk of debris on a dead straight piece of track, while everyone else was carefully avoiding it. Very odd.

Regarding the "night race", it looked pretty bright to me, with even lighting. Now, if they were to have normal street lights and fit headlights to the cars that might be something special.

Of course, Massa would probably need night vision goggles.

I found the whole race boring, jeeezus, how can you build a track and not allow for more than one place to overtake, it was like a procession at times, and hoping you can pit stop one less time, or a bit quicker than the other team.

The best car and driver did not win, he was just lucky some poor sod had an accident and the safety car came out.

The poor sod happened to be his team mate and Alonso just happened to have pitted right before that accident. F'ing cheaters !

Yes, safety cars screw it all up. They should stop the race, make note of the car times and then start the race again taking into account the previous times. I'm sure they used to do it that way. It's stupid that one car can crash and allow everyone else to catch up to the leader just because the safety car is out.

Especially when the leader is 30 seconds in front with 0 pit stops and an empty tank, and the second place car has just done a fuel stop. Perfect time for the second place man's team mate to have a nasty prang.

FIA - Ferrari Is Absolute.

Hi

I am not a great lover of Bernie Ecclestone but must admit I liked his put down of Lucu Di Montezemola who rubbished the Singapore GP as a circus.

To which Bernie replied .. If it was a circus the Ferrari supplied the clowns! Ouch! Like it.

TBWG :o
