Ebook Reader

Featured Replies

Due to the difficulty to find italian books, I've found thousand (pirate copy) on Emule.

Actually I print with my double face printer, but is a waste of paper (I have the modified big ink tanks).

So I'm thinking about an Ebook reader.

But I'm not so sure I like to read a book in that way, after 40 years of paper readings...

Anybody have some experience?

And, which kind of reader is advisable, good, cheap, long battery fife, clear screen, etc. (Amazon??)

I have a 12 inches laptop but I don't like to read this way.

Thank for any suggestion

My sister in-law has an Amazon Kindle and i've used that a bit. The screen is very easy on the eyes, but the overall design is a little odd. I could get used to it. I have only used the native kindle format books that she downloaded, i haven't tried any PDFs or text files. The screens are a bit sluggish compared to LCDs but they are MUCH more "paper-like".

The Sony e-book look interesting. But not too small??

Does anybody knows if available and how much in Thailand?? Panthip??

So I ordered the Sony reader from Waterstones here in Amsterdam €249.

10 days later they arrived well the covers did they just forgot to put the reader

inside :o

So I phoned this morning and it seems they were stolen from the warehouse in

Bristol.and sony cant keep up with demand

When I get it I will let you know what it is like.

Or...you could buy a PDA or PDA-phone and install a good ebook reader, they will have excellent fonts, have read books for nearly 10 years like that...much cheaper than the Sony Reader, that's for sure. Plus, it can come with you anywhere.

There are many print shops in malls and around universities that will print and bind books. I absolutely love having eBooks printed up this way. The value is quite high and the cost is low. They usually don't come out perfect like from a publisher, but they can be darned close. The biggest issue is miscommunication.

If your book is in PDF format, check out my site, Siam eBook Printers, which does the exact same thing, but you order over the web and it's delivered to you. (And the whole site is in English.)

Good luck!
