To claim “nobody was betting on Reform” is a massive rewrite of history. Reform absolutely threw the kitchen sink at Makerfield, fully expecting their local candidate to capitalise on the recent local election momentum where they took over 46% of the vote in Wigan. They didn’t just lose; they got utterly trounced. If a "donkey" could win it, then Reform just got beaten by a landslide by a donkey. Andy Burnham didn't just crawl over the line he crushed Reform by over 9,200 votes, pulling a commanding 54.8% of the total vote share. Even if you combine the votes of Reform and the hardline Restore party, Burnham still beat them both by over 6,100 votes clear. The voter turnout actually rose compared to the general election because people actively turned up to reject the Reform platform. As for the rest of your made-up rant, I won't dignify it with a reply.
