Probs With Avi Files

Featured Replies

.

Hi all. I have a couple of dozen movie clips and tv shows I got on the internet. AVI format

I use winamp to watch them.

With a few files, the picture is upside down. The audio is ok. If I use JetAudio to play the upside down ones, they play correctly.

Now I have a couple movies that have no audio on either player. I know the audio is there because, if I use the simple pre-viewer that comes with the Total Video Converter program, I can see and hear them ok on the tiny preview screen.

Can someone tell me what's going on?

Don't know if it'll help but found article on http://forums.winamp.com/showthread.php?threadid=219978 here's a snippet: JOY!!!

The necessary command is (all on one line):

regsvr32 /u "c:\program files\common files\roxio shared\sharedcom\mpeg2vidcodec.dll"

And while I was at it, I unregistered their demuxer with:

regsvr32 /u "c:\program files\common files\roxio shared\sharedcom\mpeg2muxer.dll"

Don't know about audio, sounds like codec problem try here http://forums.winamp.com/showthread.php?threadid=244421

Concur, MPC/FFD w/directshow splitter, Quicktime alt, RP alt, and you have a 1-stop shop for any type of file.
