Is Someone At True Internet Messing With The Ports?

Featured Replies

Since about 2 hours I can't access anything except port 80 (websites). SSL websites (port 443) don't work, neither do emails, ftp, shell or even MSN or Skype. Anyone else experiencing this with TRUE internet today?

My FTP connection is down too... i can acces websites only.

Awesome ..maybe this is related to the earlier posts of torrent downloads being slow. Perhaps their head technician figured that blocking all ports except 80 is a permanent solution to the torrent problem. :o

I don't think the internet problems are confined to True. I have a TOT ADSL connection and for the past few days have only been able to access less then half of the websites I normally visit.

At first I thought there was a problem with international sites but I can access sites like BBC News no problem. It is like someone or something has a selective block in place.

Getting onto Thaivisa is not a problem some other sites in Thailand are, I don't understand what is going on. Anyone have any ideas what is happening.

Late last night, TOT ADSL customer service confirmed that there is a nationwide problem with the ATM network (not related to banking!). My symptoms were exactly the same (inability access about 50% of websites; mix of Thai and International could not be accessed; ThaiVisa unavailable for two days). Supposed to be cleared up as of this morning. Notice I'm posting on ThaiVisa!
