Internet Connection

Featured Replies

I have a problem to connect to the internet. I build a new house up hill from Hua Hin and there is no TOT line yet available. In Hua Hin down town I could get the free WLAN net without problems. Does anybody have some helpful suggestions how I can connect without TOT or WLAN ?

Thanks for your help and have a nice day.

Erich

To Johan BBK, thanks for your advise

If you have a mobile phone signal here's one option. It's the AIS website for aircards http://www.mfa.ais.co.th/SpecialProducts/P...S_EDGE+Devices/

Thank's a lot Farma, you gave to me a great helping hand. I'm very happy that I got a solution.

Have a nice day

I hope it does what you want Erich. The best part about them is portability. I’ve used mine in Pattaya, Bangkok, a regional city and a remote Issan Village.

As long as the signal is good you’ll get a reasonable connection speed. My best transfer received rate has been 246 kbps and sent rate 134 kbps. I’ve also used skype a few times without drop outs and with a reasonably clear line although not as good as adsl.

I downloaded Vista service pack 1 reasonably fast using it without problems or break in the download.

If you're just waiting for a TOT line to be installed, you could try connecting through your mobile to get the same results and save 5,000+ baht on the aircard you'd only be using for a short time.
