Form Tm 7

Featured Replies

Hi, I'm just about to apply for an extension on the grounds of retirement, my first 90 days expire in 2 weeks, and have a couple of questions if anybody can help, firstly on form TM.7 it asks how many days I'm applying for, would this be 90 or more?, secondly, from peoples experience, is it better to supply colour copies or does it not really matter. Thanks in anticipation

If you are applying for an extension to your visa based on retirement it will be for 365 days (1 year) - but firstly what type of visa do you currently have?

If you are applying for a one year extension it would be 365 days.

Do you have proof on income of 65,000 a month or 800,000 baht in bank for the past 3 months?

You will need that for a one year extension. If not you will have to make a visa run for a new visa.

Standard copies are fine.

Hi, I've got a 1 year non immigrant 'O' multiple entry

You need to make a border run to leave the country and come back. The multiple entry means you have to leave and come back. Unless you meet the requirements for a one year extension.

Cambodia is the best bet. Their are lots of companies making border runs to there.

Hi, thanks for that, yes we've had a bank account over here for a couple of years, and as we've been living in England the money hasn't been touched, we also opened another when we arrived. Hopefully I've got everything right, although theres a bit of trepidation as the more I've read about the visas trying to understand, the more confused I seem to get, hopefully my first trip to Immigration will be less fraught than I imagine it to be.

It will be be. It will be a doddle. Don't worry.

I'm in my 3rd extension. Here's a checklist, don't forget any of these.

Your passport

A passport photo (1 is all you need) (They will staple it to your application)

Copies of your passport, the main page, your visa page, and the entry card, (the one you filled out on the airplane)

Completed application TM-7

Your bankbook, (from a Thai bank)

Copies of the pages of your bankbook, especially the first page and the last page. (Current balance should match bank letter)

A letter from the bank certifying your account and the amount, (current).....This will cost you 100 or 200 baht.....bank ?

If you are using monthly income as basis for visa, then you must have a letter from your embassy certifying your income.

If you're using your bank account, it must be at least three months old and be at least 800,000 Baht.

Dress nicely, and SMILE, it's their country, they make the rules. If you have a Thai lady, take her with you, if she speaks some English. And relax.....it's a piece o' cake. Good luck, and welcome to paradise.....Ernie K

is it better to supply colour copies or does it not really matter.

Black and white are good enough.

For the record colour copies of a UK passport are illegal.
