I do not know where or what topic file to put this in so i will just add it to general and let the moderators move it to the correct place,

Here is what i want to know, I have traveled up and down wireless road multiple times due to the fact its on my way home from work, I have noticed the embassy (USA) is closed due to construction, Is it open maybe at another road or gate and if i want to go where can i access it, I have not ever seen an open gate or even a visa line like normal, so anyone know if the embassy has moved till construction is over or is there a second entrence that i have missed, I want to change my passport cause of water damage, most of the stamps and my photo is runny and hard to see,

Probably is another way in.

I doubt that they close the services due to this.

By the way, I was there last week.

Happy to say that it is probably the most efficient and helpful service I have ever experienced in any embassy around the world.

Knowing half of the continet want to go there, I was not optimistic about it when I went there in the morning.

I was impressed about the efficiency.

About 80-90 people infront of me, but I was out of there within 2 hours.

You are of course, refering to the Consular Section (Visa) and American Citizen Services , which is located accross the street from the Main Embassy building.

It is a good question though has I have noticed the usual entrance appears to be blocked off.

:o I haven't been there for years now....but looking at the website for the U.S. embassy....they have a map which seems to indicate that the entrance is not from wireless road, but at the back of the ACS (American Citizen Services) off a side soi from wireless road.

Also, go to the website, and there is a notice that they are starting a new appointment system. You apparently sign up on line for appointments for routine business. The sign up apparently assigns you a number. according to the notice this will make routine business appointments faster to process (yeah, I'll believe that when I see it). The notice says routine appointments will no longer be accepted by telephone, sign up on line. People with appointments get preference, walk ins have to wait.

I was there last month. I made an appointment from the website, printed the appointment sheet and was waited on as soon as I walked in. There is construction, but there is a security guard on wireless road where the old entrance used to be directing you through like a hole in the wall. The security has been hightened, and only people with American passports or appointment sheets are now able to go in the American citizen Services.

It's quite easy. Look for a guard--that's where you get it. Parking is a problem and I ended up parking at the 4 Seasons and walking. I was surprised how quick it was as well. I sat around for a while (had an appointment), then got my act together and asked someone where I was supposed to go and they sent me to the correct window and was out of there quickly!
