I work in a Secondary School teaching maths. I have the pleasure of teaching a young Thia student who knows very little English. I would like to communicate that I will be teaching them maths. I would also like to say that I will teach them the basics of counting, money, time and measurement. I would like to say to who ever helps me with this that I wish I could speak as much Thai as this student speaks English. I would like to take the strain out of the student having to understand me. I have found most of the basic maths stuff I need but would appreciate help with the sentences above. Thank you.

For no particular reason, I would like to reaffirm at this time my belief that it makes a difference if native speakers are teaching English-taught subjects in schools.
