Battery Charging

Featured Replies

Problem:

Device charges battery through USB connectionwith computer.

Is there some sort of adapter that I can plug that USB into so it can charge the battery through the normal electricity net?

I bought this one recently, build quality is not great, but it's cheap.

Be careful to buy a model with enough power.

Aaah, cool. :o

Thanks a lot.

When you go to places like Pantip take a look in the shops that have boxes of parts all over the shop floor. I have the one pictured by Rice King ($6 in Singapore) but I found a smaller, slimmer version with flat retractable prongs only yesterday, 50 baht at IT Square and recharges my MP3 player just fine.

Pantip et al have boxes of them at about 50 Baht or so. Dead handy for all those things with USB chargers.

The ones I have are marked as 5v 100mA, to be honest I've not measured the output but they seem to work ok charging my iPod and Bluetooth headphones :o.

"I don't want to know why you can't. I want to know how you can!"

Input: AC 110-220v 50/60Hz AC10mA

Output:DC 5.00V +/-5% DC 200-300mA +/-30mA

I've noticed in Singapore there are different versions, $6, $13 and $20. The $20 ones are all white and shiny so priced to sell to iPod owners I suppose.

I have a Creative MP3 player and on the Creative website they were selling the charger for $49.99 which was half the cost of the player :o

Hardware House were promoting the same player recently with a free USB charger that looked the same from memory but valuing it at only 199 baht (SD$9)...
