Pvr (truevisions)

Featured Replies

I'm suspicious of anything from Truevisions, I know this is Thailand but it must be the most farang unfriendly business here.

Questions, Since the program listings are reliably unreliable, (except the drivel for the LCD), do they update CORRECTLY, and if so

how far forward.?

Are the menus for setting coherent and logical ?

How far forward can I program, and how many programs. (I will be walking to Nakorn Si Thammarat , and would like to catch up on the Tigers if I get back)

Btw I've tried to get info via Truevisions, deafening silence.

Sorry folks there is a thread elsewhere. unsurprisingly seems it's cr*p

Without doubt your comments are totally correct. Content, repeats, not enough good comedy/entertainment, lack of continui, PRICING, It seems silly to us but if you join and write direct you seem to get a better service for whatever reason.

Yes there were quite a few different threads on PVR when it was released, but all those that i read were in the main, pretty positive.

I too would be intrigued to know if the system copes with changes in schedule, and also if in the case of live events like sports, it can adjust itself should the programming change at late notice.

I had one of the PVRs as part of a trial testing. The menu system they use was a joy to use after the useless system they have on the standard box. You could set it to record and entire series at the touch of one button and it would adjust if there was a change in schedule. You could see about a week in advance (I forget exactly how long) and there was far more reliable information available on most progs. They seem to have a good team in place to set those schedules and a bunch of muppets for the standard box. I was really getting adicted to the Tivo style rewind of live shows!

However, the picture and sound quality and picture width (ie, no wide-screen) didn't improve (especially on my 42" LCD TV) so I took it back at the end of the trial period. The room was packed almost to the ceiling with returned boxes when I visited their office so it looks like most folks did the same. Downloads are the order of the day until they improve their picture and sound quality.

Truevisions and UBC are the same, correct ?

What did you sign up for if you terminated Truevisions after the trial period ?

Thanks
