Name My Palms

Featured Replies

Can anyone put a name to my new palms, looked through 4 books and only one lists a similar lookalike which is called Bentinkia Palm which I doubt as apparently its an endagered plant. Trunk is a very smooth dark green and the leaves are very heavy, only been planted just a few days so a little limp at the moment. Thanks.

It is an alexander palm, AKA solitaire palm. Botanical name is ptychosperma elegans. I don't know the thai name.

Many thanks Meandwi for a very quick reply, you must be something of an expert on palms and plants. I'll get a label printed out and tied on in the morning, I hate having plants I don't know the name of. Thanks again.
