Hotmail

Featured Replies

Anyone having problems with Hotmail* today? Everytime I click on anything (in Hotmail) it 'freezes' the browser (and all other open browsers) for about 30 seconds. All other websites/internet apps are behaving normally, so it's definitely an issue with Hotmail, not my connection etc. Been like this all day. Anyone know anything about this or when it's likely to be resolved?

*I'm looking for hard info, so please spare me any 'Hotmail is totally rubbish, you should use Gmail' comments.

well the trouble is on your side not on hotmail, you don"t say wich browser you use nor the extensions/script/toolbars loaded.

give a try to hotmail with another browser like firefox, chrome, safari or opera and you should notice hotmail is fine.

It may be Thailand's recently introduced regulations on usage of out of country email providers, and the monitoring technology they use to scan the traffic. Maybe.

You're right NHJ - working fine with Firefox. Can't figure it out. Never once had a compatibility problem with IE and hotmail before (particularly bearing in mind both things are Microsoft produced, therefore you wouldn't expect them to have compatibility issues - having said that, nothing about Microsoft's seemingly complete and utter ineptitude in everything they do would ever surprise me). Have you got any idea what might be causing it? I guess I could just use Firefox, but I'm used to IE and, despite all the naysayers, never really had any issues with it (apart from this one)...

nowadays almost all websites do use scripts wich can be used to improve the webpage aswell as to infect your system.

you certainly have internet security programs, like firewall, antivirus and maybe some toolbars loaded into your internet explorer wich may create a conflict into all those programs and thus freeze your explorer for a moment waiting for every " security " solutions to allow the page to be loaded.

you should stick to firefox not only for the "secure" side of the browser but also for the extensions available.

Thanks NHJ - I first tried Firefox a few years ago and never really liked it much. However, after using this version, I reckon I'm pretty much converted. Haven't even opened IE for a few days now...

I was unable to access any emails on my hotmail account since last weekend. This morning it is working fine again. On of my colleagues had the same problem.
