I know there are a lot of people out there who are relieved that the UK gov are said to be fully guaranteeing UK depositors in Icesave after the Icelandic gov appeared to be reneging on its guarantees. However it was just being pointed out on BBC that if you had your money in the offshore Guernsey operation then you are not protected by either the UK or Icelandic guarantees and that investors there could well have lost everything.

Also a statement from the Icelandic gov a few minutes ago said there was "probably" enough money in the scheme to compensate UK investors, which actually isn't the best of news as it would have been a lot quicker to have got your money back from the FSA.

Hope no one here too badly affected....
