Looking For Good Reputable Employment Agency

Recommended Posts

We are looking for a solid professional employment agency to get our condo building started on the right track for a new manager (who must be Thai) here in Pattaya. One of my fellow committee members and I found one and took home a short brochure which spells out its fee schedule. The question is how professional is this outfit and how good of a job will it really do at screening prospective candidates? Or any employment agency we might find for that matter?

"The question is how professional is this outfit and how good of a job will it really do at screening prospective candidates? Or any employment agency we might find for that matter? "

Which outfit, you have named none?

Have you been to the government employment agency in Chon Buri or Pattaya?

After finding suitable canditate, you can use an private investigator to give more information about the candidate.

Use "PI thai" or "thailand-investigators" if you do want to be more confident in chosing the right one for the job.

Good hunting

The agency we have contacted is Pattaya Job Center. On the business card Pichayapak Tabjaroen (Au) is the managing director. This agency has two programs. The first, which this agency calls "Vacancy Advertising" would entail our condo building leaving a short job description of our management vacancy. Job seekers wanting to apply for our position would then contact us directly. The second is its "Recruitment Service". The way this works is the agency uses its contact database to search for candidates it feels might be qualified for our management position. The agency then interviews and screens candidates and then it contacts us when it finds a suitable candidate. We would then interview those candidates that have passed the agency's initial screening.

Cost of the "Vacancy Advertising" is 500 baht and up whereas the cost of the "Recruitment Service is 10 % of the successful candidate's salary for the first six months, payable in advance by the employer. Our committee at this point favors this second approach to get beyond the bargirls posing as restaurant owner, receptionist, or other "good girls" working respectable jobs who are not professionally minded. So we might actually lean towards hiring a woman over a man. Obviously if we are letting the employment agency do our screening for us and are paying it 10 % of the successful candidate's first six month's salary we will want an agency which is worth its salt.

It is worth your effort to put up an ad on the Carefour board and also on the Friendship board.

Another worthwhile activity would be to advertise in Bkk. You would more than likely find a large number of more qualified, English-speaking applicants there. As long as you note that the employment is in Pattaya, only the parties interested in moving would then apply.

Good luck,

One of my neighbors thought your idea to be an excellent one..that is to focus on Bangkok because in general one will find a higher caliber of person there. I agree with him. However, another owner suggested that for someone to want to relocate from Bangkok we would be having to pay the big bucks. We are a small condo community. Our present manager only works half time, and even at that he really doesn't keep very busy. On the other hand it's hard for him to find what needs to be done if he stays in the office without ever checking outside it to discover what needs to be maintained, whether or not the cheaning staff is cleaning properly or not, etc.

The problem with checking the boards at places such as Carre Four is we are going to have to weed through a lot of candidates who are not qualified.
