How Can I Get Legal?

Featured Replies

I have a laptop with Windows XP. I cannot install the Service Pack and when I try to install the Nokia Suite for the mobile phone /internet system it also refuses to install.

It looks like my copy of XP which came with the computer is a pirate. Does anyone know how I can fix this? I suppose I could buy another copy of XP but TiT so that would probably be pirated too!!

I was in the same boat as you until recently.

My raghead mate sorted it out with a small dongle.

What he did is still a mystery, so, there is a work-around , somewhere.

I cannot update, but it works fine.

I'm sure the guys here will help you, if not, try asking around Panthip or Fortoooon It. :o

edit: oops, sorry, I forgot that you are a jungley.... Pai!

You can buy a retail version at IT city stores.

They costs somewhere like 3,000 baht for the home version.

I had a similar problem but was given a 'code' which activated windows...but every startup asked for this code which was annoying so I left the computer on all the time. Then after a few weeks, for no apparent reason windows started loading normaly,no requests for the code, updates install and,all seems well

I must say that I know nothing about computers...dont want to either, just want them to work.

Just three weeks ago I went through MSN and for $149.00us they download all of the needed codes in your computer and then send you the disk in case you need to reboot at some point. It is well worth the money to become legal and receive downloads hassel free.

this has nothing to do with your "pirated" windows copy, most of us do use "pirated" windows and are able to install the critical updates wich is the SP3 and pevious ones, it's been always in microsoft policy to update the non genuine software to reduce the potential amount of vulnerable comuters.

my "pirated" windows is passing the WGA check since years aswell as all the computers i did install it.

be more specific in the error message, it's maybe related to misconfigured/deleted microsoft installer files.
