Any Recommendations For Ac Repair

I tried to search the forum for Air Conditioning Repair and couldn't come up with anything for Pattaya.

1. Does anyone have any recommendations? I have a new unit one year old and I think it just needs a freon recharge.

2. I noticed when I did my search that one of the other forums had a pinned section for recommended repairmen. Can we do something like that here?

Shouldn't need a freon recharge in only one year!

As suggested, best to go to where you bought it and let them check it.

Alternately, I'm in a rented condo and thought the aging A/C units were low on freon.

Wanting them to be checked, I called a company called "ARC" 0812570809

I'd never dealt with them previously. They sent out a repairman who found the

A/C units were fine and not needing freon. I was surprised as there was

no-charge (!) for the visit...so I gave a small tip (50-Bt) to the repairman.

Hi rmicheald, before you do anything else check the filters. If the fan is blowing and/or the pump is running it doesn't mean it's working properly! Some have inlet and often internal filters (or outlet) so look for 2.

Dear rmicheald,

You shouldnt need a gas recharge at all unless you have a gas leak.

Try cleaning the filters first as BSJ suggested.

If that doesnt work try this Guy.

Alan 089220 1467.

Forgot the name of the company but he is from England and Managers Thai sub-contractors to ensure work is to Western standards.

Does Air conditioning, Commercial Refrigeration, Electrical etc.

You pay a little bit more but at least you have the work checked.

Tip - Air-conditioning systems are sealed systems, if they require a "freon gas" recharge at anytime (unless they didnt charge the gas in correctly in the first place on installation) you have gas leaking out, The AC Technician will have to find and repair the leak before recharging..........Biggest scam going in the Automotive air conditioning is "Come back Sir/Madam in three/six months for your gas recharge"!

Hope it helps.
