Hi, my wife had her interview today by phone. She said that she made one mistake, when ask where her daughter is staying she said,"aunt of boyfriend" instaed of aunt of old boyfriend. The interviewer picked up on this and asked her does she have two boyfriends, she said no only me.

Do you think this will go against us. Appoligies if this seems dumb, but very worried now.

My wife had a telephone interview as part of our fiance visa application process. They spoke to her for about 5 or 10 minutes and never got back to her, but we got the visa a few days later. Don't worry about not hearing back from them.

How long after the fiance visa was submitted did she get an interview, im going through the same thing at the moment with my fiance, really nervous about it and hate being apart from her.

you are not joking i hate being here apart from the woman i love very much i would assume its the same as they both settlement visas.

I'm not sure, I'd never heard of telephone interviews before today, must of the talk on the forum is about regular interviews at the embasey or uk visa. Hopefully your one of the lucky ones that don't need an interview but yeah its very tough being apart and even more so knowing that a negitive decision will mean so much time apart.

Thanks for the comment, feeling really nervous about the whole thing. They didn't ask her anything about me, only her land and her children for twenty minutes.

If you have a telcon, it can be quite positive, it means it hasn't been turned down flat and they are checking up on a few items, if they were answered in the positive, then all is well.

I note your concern regarding the ex-boyfriend, as long as it was clarified, again a positive, just a waiting game now.

Good luck

Nothing new about telcon's, we had one years ago and we had to fax some additional info through to them, they even responded by sending something back to the hotel.

Remain hopeful, a telecon is better than a flat refusal.

I think it was about 2 or 3 working days after putting it in, ie I think we put the application in on Wednesday at about midday and she got the interview on the monday morning. As already said, I think the telephone interviews are not as serious as full blown embassy interviews. In our case they asked my wife a few general questions, nothing too deep or tricky about our relationship, the visa applied for and the wedding. They also asked me to fax a copy of my passport, even though they already had one in the paperwork we handed in.

my fiance has had to book an interview at the embassy we now have to wait until 24th november, but its all good and they have not asked for more documents and its not been refused so fingers crossed. What sort of questions will they ask her at the interview ?

Generally it is confirmation of your application and regarding yourselves:

Where did you meet?

What are your parents names, if she doesn't know, just say Mum & Dad?

How old are you?

Where do you live?

Etc Etc

Good Luck
