Having given up the dreaded fags, I have been smoking a pipe for the last several months now. Although I can get the usual pipe tobacco at The Mall, Siam Paragon and Emporium etc, I am looking for a more diverse range of tobacco flavours (eg Cherry, Vanilla, Bourbon, Highland Malt, Orange, etc etc).

Any pipe smokers out there?

Where do you get a good range of Cavendish mixtures (Borkum Riff, Capt. Black etc)?

Any jokes about where you can get a good shag will not be entertained!!

Thanks to all for your help

Cough cough! :o

I don't believe that is what he is looking for although I do recall some Captain Black at the place near the corner of soi 4. Personally I bring my own. I just packed about 2 kilos in my bag for my trip back to LOS. You might also consider stopping in some of those middle eastern places on the soi behind soi 3 for some of the stuff the restaraunts use in their big hukas.

But the limit permitted by Customs is 500 grams unless you have special permission from Thai Revenue to import more. So aren't you risking a rather hefty fine if you're caught?

A hefty fine if you try to sneak it in and are caught. I always declare it and am willing to pay the import duty although the officials never charge me because it is for personal use. The limit you mention is a DUTY FREE limit. It is not illegal to bring in over the limit as long as you declare it. If special permission is required no one has ever complained to me and the worst that would happen is confiscation or being charged a duty. If the duty is too high you can just forfeit the goods. There is a big difference between being charged an import duty and being fined for smuggling.

That's not what the law says according to this post: http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/Customs-Tobb...62#entry1230762

Nothing about DUTY FREE there and hefty fines are mentioned irrespective of whatever.

Member samran disagrees with your contention here: http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/Customs-Tobb...58#entry1815158

But it's good to know that you've actually done this and got away with it by reason of personal use. Maybe I'll try it. I'd like a few more testimonials such as yours though.

Actually, today (Sunday) got a few flavours from the Wine Cellar Siam Paragon & Emporium branches. Still have to try soi 4 & 49/51.

Keep you posted, smokemates!! :o
