Suan Plu Immigration

Featured Replies

I've been trying to contact the Immigration Bureau at Suan Plu by telephone. The automated massage says "For English, please press 9". I press 9 but the dam_n thing keeps spouting Thai instructions. I've tried a dozen times but keep having the same problem. I've overstayed by about 10 days and want to get my tourist visa extended by 30 days. Fully prepared to pay the overstay fine - it's my fault - but this is getting frustrating. Not keen on actually going down there just in case they wanna toss me out of the country.

I'm British, 41 years old etc, etc.

Does anyone know the REAL number to get English-speaking assistance at the Bureau ?

Don't know which is the correct number these days, but I'm certain that you can not obtain an extension of stay if you are on overstay.

Head for a border point pronto and pay the fine there!

Thanks for the repsonse. That's what I thought but I read on another thread that it was possible to get an extension even on overstay provided you pay the overstay fine.

Thread here http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/Extending-To...+suan++overstay

So my reason for wanting to speak to someone is just so I can get clarification rather than go there and have a copper come out and cart me off to a detention centre. :o

They will often give a day's grace in extending .. but I have never heard of 10 day's grace period. after all you could have extended it anytime from the day you entered the country.

You should be able to get an extension siince you qualify for one with the visa you are on.

The worst case is if they don't extend it after you pay the overstay. They will then issue you a 7 day extension (1900 baht) to allow you time to leave.

Edit: Have you tried this phone number

With cooperation between Immigration Bureau and Government Contact Center, now you can call 1111 for immigration inquiry for 24 hours. 3 baht per call for fixed line phone.
