What Does This Mean Here? (tutting?)

Featured Replies

Judgling by the direction this thread has taken, 'tut tutting' in Thailand is obviously a very dangerous activity. We should all take heed lest we come unstuck

Actually, " tutting " in Thailand is a sound made in approbation generally when something beautiful is encountered.

Anyway, back to the discussion about short stabbing implements..........

Which were quite popular during the Peloponnesian War (according to some of our older members, though I loathe to mention george, Dr PP and Jai Dee by name). :o

Perhaps they were saying 'tuk-tuk'?

Learn how to say "No, you are" in Thai under your breath just loud enough for them to hear. It's something like Kuhn ahleh. It stops them dead in their tracks.

Maybe just teasing of butts from the back look. Guess you both have a yummy butts hehehe

Have you been out tut-tutting at people again? :o

OK, so assuming that most of us probably won't be coming into contact with many wild deer or elk that require gutting and skinning in the foreseeable future, and assuming that the OP is probably not serious about going on a tutting-Thai stabbing frenzy - which of these evil looking tools would be best employed for getting you into the shrink-wrapped packaging that most electrical items seem to come in these days? (Oh, and assuming you don't need to conceal it internally in case of any pat-downs).

Rgearding the tutting - I'd take it as a compliment, feel good when you hear it, and move on. Life's too short.

When I was at the bkk intl airport lounge I heard 2 airline staff do the tut tut sound when they were playing with some passenger's toddler. Very amusing!

it is as rude/low class to be making comments (or noises that serve as comments) about strangers here in Thailand as it would be in the West.

Are we talking about the "clicking" noise made by sucking a little air between the tongue and top of the mouth? Because that's the same noise that people - Thais - make when getting a soi dog to go away.

So, what does your g/f /look like? :o

I always thought that the tutting sound was the Thai version of the 'wolf whistle' :o so the OP should feel flattered, rather than insulted.

But, maybe, he's the "You looking at my bird?" type.

Are you sure you're not being overly paranoid?

It's probably a few few blokes passing by chewing gum, or perhaps just eaten and sucking the last of that delicious som tam from between their teeth :o

your only a young lad,let it go

better use of the energy.....

make love not war :o
