Market Defies Gloom: Stocks Surge as Recession Fears Simmer
For a completely different reaction, to the market regaining ground lost since “liberation Day”. Surprised & very happy I had a chance a chance to sell on the upswing. A chance not to be missed, so much so, I doubled up. My budget, runs July to July, mainly investments. No faith in the long-term stability of the market. What with tariff shocks to start hitting this month & The Donald in charge. I put a sell order in on the weekend, not knowing if I will have this chance again. It did not go through until Monday, after the market closed, so I did eat one day of the downturn. Market reached its high point last Friday, dropping since. However, can’t be happier. I sold to fund me for two years, not one. Gives a person the means to wait it out & not be forced into a sell when investments are low in value. As Mr. Muir has stated; ‘When did Noah build the ark? Before the rain, before the rain.’ -

Does your Sim registration and Bank details Match?
It would appear from the very brief video included with the OP that the government and banks are only planning to go after foreigners with zeal and gusto on this particular issue. On the other hand, Thai nationals will, presumably, still be cheerfully permitted by the powers-that-be to have their bank accounts linked in complete impunity to SIM cards registered in the name of any Tom, Dick or Harry they might choose. -

The High Cost of Breathing
I'm beginning to sense the feeling might be mutual. For those of us who have been here for a while (long time) and have traveled around a bit in areas not teeming with foreigners, we've all met the three types you eventually will meet. 1. The type that ignores you. Not because they don't want to meet other foreigners but because what's the big deal. You're a farang, he's a farang. Great, your both foreigners in Thailand - bring out the marching band! They're my favorite type and luckily the most numerous. 2. The type that wants to talk - really, really talk. Like meeting you somewhere in a Macro in Nakhon Nowhere is the greatest thing ever. There are quite a few of those. 3. The "deer caught in the headlight" type. Once this dude (invariably it's a dude) spots you it's like they're getting tasered and they head for the nearest exit. Extreme introvert, wanted criminal, just plain weird, who knows. Which one would you be?
