Incoming Foreign Currency Controls

Featured Replies

I plan to transfer 30,000 USD to my thai baht account at Bangkok Bank.

Are the currency controls still in effect? I read about one year ago that the Bank of Thailand was trying to stop baht speculators by requiring that all foreign remittances above a certain amount be placed in some type of limited access account. I remember the amount to be around 20,000 USD.

Are these controls still in effect?

Thanks

Thanks. I thought the controls had been lifted. Better to be safe than sorry.
