Does anyone know if i can claim child benefits for my stepdaughter (who is Thai). My wife and her daughter are in the UK on a 2year settlement visa. I rang the tax office but couldn't get a straight answer.

The last thing i want to do is claim for a benefit i am not entitled to and cause problems with future visa applications.
