Only Got 20 Days On My Ranong Visa Run

Featured Replies

hello!

I just did my visa run, I had a two month tourist and I did a quick visa run to ranong. When I checked my pasport I had only been give 20 more days.

Can someone explain what happened to me??!

Do they still do 30 days?

Will I be able to do two more ranong runs or should I do a proper embassy run to get a longer stay?

Questions questions

thanks in advance

How many days on 30 day visa exempt entries have you had within the last 6 months?

Sounds like you already had 70 days when you crossed the border.

The rule is 90 days within 6 months after your first entry using visa exempt entries.

You will need to do a visa run and get a 60 day tourist visa which can be extended for 30 days at immigration.

It looks as if you are talking about 30 day Visa Exempt Entry Stamps. As said you have probably used your allowance.

Next time you will need to get a proper Visa.

Try Vientiane Laos where you can get a double entry tourist visa.

I have only been back here two months after going back to the uk for a year. HAve a brand new passport too

I came in on a 60 day tourist. I thought that would give me three 30 ranong runs. That wrong?

So basically I need to do a proper full embassy run in 20 days.

An that will give me 2 months

then after that I can do three 30 ranong trips right?

Last time I was here I had a year volunteer visa so Im a bit new to this!

thanks again

It sounds like immigration made a mistake or the their stamp was wrong.

You should of gotten 30 days.

It's still 90 days total so you have 70 days remaining now.

Next time check the date stamp before you leave immigration when you enter.

This is not the first time I have heard of this happening.

Joe

Edit: Are you aware that you can extend 60 day tourist entries for 30 days at immigration for 1900 baht.

Yep. Check your stamps at the checkpoint.

Yes a mistake may happen...

Always quickly check the date of stamp in front of the officer, before leaving, and ask to modify if needed.

It happened to me 3 years ago at the airport: at the border the officer gave me only 30 days when I had to get 60. I asked the officer, and no problem, she modified the stamping date.

Good luck,

Gobs

At the Club Andaman, they once gave me a 90 day stamp instead of the 30 day one. This was in the days before they started to apply the 90 day limit. I had got home before I checked, and I went into town again next day to sort it out. So it does show mistakes can happen.
