Hi , I am going to Udon Thani in March and I would like to know the best way to get extensions to a 12 months marriage visa , it has been sugested I go for a multiple-entry non-O visa for 90days .

How do I extend and where and can I keep doing this indefinately . I have no deposit of 800,000 but I have intentions of building a business with my Thai wife and If possible I will teach english .

Do I have to come back to the uk each year , Also it was mentioned that I can extend to a maximum of 15 months . Does this mean I have to leave Thailand after this 15 months .

Thanyou in advance for your help

A Non O Multi Entry Visa will give unlimited entries up to 90 day each. After 90 days you must leave and come back again. If you do your last exit/entry just before the visa expires you will get another 90 days thus giving a total of 15 months. You can easily get this Visa from the Thai Consulate Hull.

After this you leave and get another Visa.

If you do not want to leave every 90 days , you need to get a years extension from Immigration. You will need a monthly salary of 40,000 Baht to do this. It can be you ,your Wife or a combination of both.

Hull Consulate.

Hi Roy :o

You mention not having 800k, so is it safe to assume you are over 50 y.o.? That is an option for a OA 'retirement' visa.

I too am married to a Thai and I obtained a 12month 'O' visa by post from Hull Consulate cos it seems to be widely recognised as the best place in UK.Each 90 days, I had to do a border run OUt&BACK between Cambodia&Thailand. One month before my Visa expired, I applied for a yearly extention to my visa due to being married to a Thai. Monetary requirements are you or the trouble& strife or both of you have to have a monthly income of not less than 40,000baht per month. If the income is for abroad evidence must be by way of an Income letter from the Embassy in BKK. If the income is from within Thailand, Tax reciepts must be produced for Immigration by your local Ampur(Revenue Office). Once you have the extention, no border runs are needed but each 90 days you have to report to Immigration to fill in a form to say where you are living.5 minutes in &out.

I hope this info helps you understand the Thai Immigration b@llocks we have to cope with.

Dave
