Nat - Urgent Help

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

I have TT&T Hatari HW-AA101 Adsl2+ Router and I need to redirect the http traffic (port 80) to a computer inside my LAN. I already did the normal procedure in router, but still not working. The http server in my computer is working, but the NAT is not. Is there a trick to make the NAT function works with this modem ??

Best,

ARe you trying to make a webserver in your LAN accessible from the internet? If so:

* Have a look in your router for a setting called 'virtual servers' (= port forwarding). You will need to specify the IP address of the computer in your LAN that you want to forward traffic to (ie. the IP address of the computer hosting the webserver).

* Might be best to assign that machine a fixed IP to keep life simple.

* Some routers support 'dynamic DNS' and similar host-it-at-home services, if you want to use a domain name.

* May be worth thinking about firewalling the webserver machine off from the rest of the LAN.
