Krabi to host fair on Dec 5

Krabi has alloted two million baht budget to host a fair on December 5 to promote local products including OTOP products and tourists' destination to propel the province's economy.

Krabi mayor Mr. Keerathisak Pookawluan (กีรติศักดิ์ ภูเก้าล้วน) said on Monday (November 3) that Krabi province's authorities have alloted 1.8 million baht budget from fiscal 2009 budget to Krabi municipality to host a so-called walking streets project. The Krabi municipality would contribute additional 200,000 baht to the project.

In addition, Krabi chamber of commerce would act as the project's coordinator to attract entrepreneurs to join the project scheduled to be held for the first time on December 5 to create a market for local goods, its One Tambon One Product (OTOP) products, souveniors, local students ' inventions, local foods, and ancient stuffs.

The project is aimed at attracting tourists and general public to make spending in Krabi, enhancing local people's income, stimulating local economy and tourism.
