British Consulate Pattaya

Featured Replies

Don't know when it's going to open but I have noticed this week that work has been going on and looks almost completed at a new Honorary British Consulate located in Jomtien Beach Soi 5 just a few metres up the road from the Immigration Office.

It was supposed to open in July. Renovation was being done by Siam Best Enterprises, the same firm that could not build Ocean 1.

Wonder why the delay.

The office now appears open - only a makeshift sign outside displaying opening hours of Mon - Fri 9.00 - 11.30am except holidays though , maybe they're checking out demand before getting a proper one printed!

And just what services will they be offering ? Anything useful or just an office for you know who to sit in ?

Probably the services that you would have to travel to Bangkok for if it wasn't here.

I very much doubt they will be doing new passports, extra pages in passports and all the other useful things that the German and USA people do for their citizens.

Better than nothing is about what can be hoped for I suspect but a step on the right road is what it may prove to be and that, though little in itself, is to be applauded. Now surely someone can find the cash to open it all day ?
