Hi

I was getting my annual 1year O today and asked what's required to get permanent residency. I was told that you must have a work permit and be earning 80k+ nothing else was mentioned.

I'm 46, been married to my Thai wife for 7 years and we have two kids together.

My spoken Thai is OK and I can read Thai quite well (I only mention this as I remember that Thai language ability is a part of qualification).

I'm Irish (mentioned as I think that there's a limit per year by country).

Can someone provide a simple list of the current requirements to achieve permanent residency and the costs involved.

There are several requirements, one other is that you must be an asset to Thai society shown by volunteer work etc.
