Moving To Thailand With Cats

Featured Replies

Hello, my family and I are soon to move to Thailand and we want to bring our cats with us from China. It is our first time moving animals internationally and I ask that someone fill in the blanks required for moving them.

Is there will be a quarantine period to get into Thailand?

What documentation is required to get them into Thailand?

Thanks for any help offered. Wik. :o

When I came here from Singapore I brought my two 12 year old cats with me, I forget the documentation I had to have but it was in order and was not difficult to get the cats in to the country.

The biggest problem I had was that the airline, despite having said they could travel in the cabin or as check in baggage suddenly decided they had to be checked in as cargo and not check in baggage.

It took me two days and 20,000 baht to get those two little critters out of the cargo terminal all because someone at Changi airport was too lazy to make a phone call to the airline office so they put them in as cargo which opens up a whole new world of customs duties and clearing agents at this end.

Can't get away from it once they become cargo they have to be cleared by a freight forwarder and they attract high import duties.
