Featured Replies

According to 'My Uninstaller' I have the following installed on my machine

Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1

Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 Service Pack 1

Microsoft .NET Framework 3.0 Service Pack 1

Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5

Do I need any of these?

Can I uninstall all except the latest (3.5)

Similarly I have Java 6 update 6 and Java 6 update 7. Can I uninstall 6 update 6 without problem?

Thanks in advance for any advice,

I wouldn't suggest to uninstal any of that. Some programs maybe need just one of that versions and if don't find it wouldn't work.

On my office computer all of them are installed and all of them are needed.

Cheers./

I agree with Reimar concerning Microsoft .NET

Concerning Java, remove both. Then go to Java website and install the latest version (Java 6 Update 10 I think).

I would even keep the different Java updates. From experiences I had found the you get problems with display some contents of some websites which are not updated the Java contents.

But it's anyway up to you how you like to run your computer.

Cheers.

In Java case some (most) updates include security fixes. Keeping an older version alongside the newest one is dangerous.
