November 27, 200817 yr Hey, Thanks to TV, got my xbox repaired......... and during extended play, it was doing funny things, which were gone the next day ( obvioulsy heat related). Well, 4 days later - got 3 rings of death, and its in for repair now. Want to water cool it, especially given Thai temperatures ( dont use aircon at home ). Found some solutions on the net with good results . Anyone know if they are available in Thailand? Edited November 27, 200817 yr by skippybangkok
November 27, 200817 yr Author the guy increased the fan speed ( voltage i think )........and i had extermal fan blowing....... still overheated......... just think air cooling cant handle the heat from the unit, and bigger fans = more noise, and not much cooling.
November 28, 200817 yr Author Nephew buying for me same water cooling he has in Oz, and bringing me when ( if - given suwannabom situation ) he comes here. Any more orders ?
November 30, 200817 yr I had problem that when playing games. My game would freeze and the only thing i could do was switch it off and back on again. That was until i bought a fan that clips onto the back and keeps the Xbox cooler. http://www.nyko.com/nyko/products/?i=71
November 30, 200817 yr Author Yes, Hanging is one indication of over heating. Apparently, the thing can get so hot, the solder on the components on the PCB can melt, or warp the PCB. Really well engineered ! The cooler you show here works well ? There are 2 fans already on the back - so this is just more fans ? Bought in BKK of from abroad ?
November 30, 200817 yr Never had any problems with over heating since 2 years... Although I noticed my second newer xbox 7 months (bought just for online play) is much quieter than the older one (hardly nay noise from fan etc).

I just have a big distrust of Xbox build quality ( love the games though ) I dont use aircon at home.......... they guys that have had no issues, do you use aircon ?
