Incompendence And Corruption

INCOMPENDENCE and CORRUPTION

The Thai Peoples Democratically Elected Government should now be asking questions as to why the PAD were not firstly asked to move from parliament house and secondly why they were not forcibly moved by the Peoples Police Department.

The Military should also be held accountable for inciting PAD to stage a long term Civil Disturbance, especially as the Commander of the military asked publically for the Prime Minister to stand down and for Parliament to be dissolved. By him asking this he gave the impression that he was on the side of PAD. The Military work for the elected Government not the other way around. No he should not be sacked or transferred; he should be stood down pending the outcome of the investigation not only on what he said, but for his non action in helping the Government and the People of Thailand.

Any Government officials, Police or Military found to be negligent in their duties should be held accountable for their actions and this should start at the top.

Anyone found to be negligent in their duties should be stood down from their post without pay pending the outcome of the investigation. (Not transferred or demoted)

If found guilty they should receive a minimum sentence of 2 years, have their pensions withdrawn and in more serious cases where they have accepted money have all of their assets seized and put into internal revenue.

PAD officials should be charged for inciting political and civil unrest, they have publically recruited their own army and by doing this have condoned the killing, maiming and serious assaults on hundreds of Thai people. Further to this they should be charged under the Terrorist act for taking over the Air Traffic Control Tower. This could have resulted in the loss of life of hundreds of tourists from all over the world, this is an International Terminal and by it being International it has a sovereign right for safety of every citizen of every country in the Customs/Immigration area. This would be like attacking the Chinese or Russian Embassy in Bangkok, it would not happen would it.

It hasn’t stopped yet, now there is a state of emergency, let’s see how they handle this?

Other than all the factual errors .... (Government House not Parliament etc, taking over the control tower .. etc ...)

The Army chief answers to the Head of State not the PM. The PAD have an injunction from the courts allowing them to stay at Government House, the PPP has been found guilty of election fraud and are awaiting the court's decision as to their fate, but since the courts have disbanded every other group that the EC has found guilty .....

I foresee the average citizen welcoming a coup by tomorrow if the government has not resigned and called snap elections.

Incompetence and corruption have made Thailand the very place that we love today.

If they were efficient and honest the country would be just like ours back in Farangland.

You wouldn't want that, would you?

Rock on corruption.

I feel sympathy for my Thai freinds, whom I think had a sense of pride in being Thai, I had little idea that they belong to such a minority.

The honesty of what you say is commendable but in Thailand she is not like the rest of the world. A unique culture that can never be replaced and as we know there is always tomorrow.

The real effect of what has happened in terms of the economic downturn will not seriously make any impact till the Thais see the jobless in the next quarter and have family and friends that are effected.

True Globalisation is not really taken to heart in Thailand we can see that in the local schools so the man on the street would probably hide in a manhole and say it's Bangkok she is not Thailand which on the surface is true but the effects will cause great hardship to the Thais we have come to love and know.

Thankfully there was no bloodshed at the airports for that would have been the straw that broke the camel's back as regards to the emegence of Tourists landing in Bangkok.

Thai practise in itself has allowed PAD to get away scot free even the concealed handguns and the use of them with the taxi drivers.

In other countries the citizens would openly parade their loyalties but here in Issan, especially where I am no one talks and everyone walks around as it's a normal day.

If the troops had marched in and a gunfight ensued how much damage would the fighting inflict and would it really be fit to be opened.

No the Govt has not been clever in dealing with PAD and have been outmanouevered in many face to face challenges.

An election would only postpone the inevitable a state of fear and Wai

If this country was efficient and competent then guaranteed I wouldn't be working here!

Hurrah for Thailand and the state of its politics. I see Thailand as a big kindergarten and long may it continue. :o

Just make sure the airport is cleared so I can get the hel_l out for xmas!

I do believe that we will never get rid of there craps.

12 time revolutions since the King Rama VII's reign till the present reign - Could we be recorded in the Guinness Book??

It all goes towards making Thailand what it is today. A gloriously unique, vibrant and exciting country to live in.

I love the topic and all the comments here except the one wishing desperately for another coup. There won't be one this time.
