Thai Visa On Arrival @ Poipet?

Featured Replies

I have read that it isn't possible to get a visa on arrival at the border when coming overland from Cambodia.

But finding concrete information is proving difficult.

Does anyone have any info/experiences.

Thanks

If you are asking about the 30 day Visa Exempt Stamp you will have no problem.

If you are taking about the VOA for certain nationals where you pay for a 15 day VOA look here

I'm talking about the 30 day tourist visa on arrival.

I read somewhere that they can't issue tourist visas at this border crossing, and you must arrange your visa in advance.

With the Thai embassy closed for the weekend, this would mean being stuck in Phnom Penh until monday, if this is true.

Thanks

There is no such thing as a 30 day tourist visa on arrival.

Lite Beer already answered your question.

It would also help if you provide your Nationality.

You have a visa on arrival and you have a visa exempt entry, both are 2 different things. The one you qualify for depends on your nationality.

sorry, please excuse my ignorance.

I'm British.

Thanks

You can get a 30 day visa exempt entry at the Border. This is what you called a visa on arrival.

Unless you have exceded 90 days using visa exempt entries in the past 6 months.

The rule being a total of 90 days in a six month period using Visa Exempt Entries.

So yes you can enter and get 30 days if you are within the limit.
