Yearly Enumerations For Thai Staff...

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

Before I moved to Thailand, I read about enumerations given at certain times of the year.

After I moved here it sort of slide to the back.

Mainly because I at first lived in a house, not a condo.

So, what do you give to show your appreciation?

And to whom?

For instance...

At my condo there are two amazing members of staff...

The manager (who held the position of... not sure, but he was clearly a part of the team making sure this place ran smoothly, no matter who was 'officially' paid as manager)...

And the condo maid (not sure what to call her as she doesn't clean my condo but makes sure the rest of the place runs like clockwork... deliveries, alerts, notifying of strange bits, keeping staff in order... she's amazing... they both are).

Then there are the regular (but at times, transient) staff... the guards.

How much... how often... hmmm?

Note: I've already put in place yearly monies for my maid but I'd also be interested in knowing what others are offering...

I was thinking of some of the staff where I work and movie gift certificates came to my mind. I don't go to the movies here much myself, so I don't even know if they are available here. Anyone know?

My thoughts were that a pair of them should be like 250 bhat or less, they can choose which movie they want to see it with, and who they go to see it with. Much better than stuffing cash in an envelope I think...

Movie gift certificates seems a good idea. I'm right down by Victory, which has a large theatre. I'll have to inquire about gift certificates as I've only prebought set movies before.

Enumeration ? An Enumeration is a numbered list.

Dont you mean Remuneration.

I give my staff a month's salary every year on New Years and most Thai business people I know do the same. Is that what you mean?

I think he meant for the condo staff people. Manager, guards etc.

Good lord is right. How embarrassing.

Even worse, I ran a spell check before posting.

My maid I have sorted as I pay her salary direct. It's the condo staff I'm unsure of.

unfortunately, spell checks don't catch "using the completely wrong word" :D

Which only makes it worse as I had a second chance.
