Collect/reverse Charge Call

Featured Replies

G'day,

I was trying to place a collect call (with TT&T) to the US and after being routed everywhere and an hour later, they told me there is no such thing in Thailand.

I cannot believe it is true and google can't help this time. Does anyone know the number?

thanks

Matt

I just dial 100 for reverse calls.

You should be able to make a collect call - the phone operator should understand.

However, try saying ' gep ngurn plai tang daay maay krub'

If you have a problem maybe ask a Thai to speak for you

Good luck, I'm sure you will get through eventually. :o

If all else fails, go to your nearest CAT Telecom office. Have made reverse charge phone calls to my CC company from telephones available there.

I did that, and they said I am with TT&T, so I should ring 1103. The first representative said to call 1800 000144. I don't know what that number is but it never got through.

After dialing 1103, they couldn't understand me and I gave up and handed the phone to my wife who is Thai; that's how they explained to her.

I'll check it out in person tomorrow at the Airport Plaza.

thanks

Matt

No, you can not make reverse charge phone calls from Thailand.

No, you can not make reverse charge phone calls from Thailand.

Yes, you can. CAT have phones that you can use to connect to operators in your home country.

Take a look at this list. Home Country Direct

AT&T operator

I wouldn't use it to call family or friends since it's likely expensive as hel_l, but I don't mind calling my bank with it. Maybe that's why Uncle Sam had to bail them out. :o

As I said earlier in the thread, I CAN make reverse calls by just dialling 100 to speak to an international operator who speaks excellent English. I'm with TOT.

Probably all of the major long distance companies in the US offer a direct toll-free dialing access number in Thailand. I use the AT&T system to call banks, credit card companies, etc. too.

Thanks, this one does work for me.

On TT&T's website, they said to dial "101" for collect calls. That does not work and their clueless customer service representativeS did not even know it existed!
