He warned that if they did not respect the law, "law enforcement must be done." Thaksin has been on the run after being sentenced in absentia to two years in jail on corruption charges in Thailand. tijnebijn
There is much more going on then you can read in the media , nothing you see what appears hypocritical is for nothing . If things will go all the way to one side , thailand could very well go in a direction the western world considers as dictatorial . My advise is to better your thai and open your ears very well and listen very carefully what the people on the streets are talking about . Well tijnebijn I would love to do just that but for the whole six years I have lived in Thailand I had never found anyone who is remotely interested or prepared to talk politics! It's such a taboo subject and that's the problem here how can they work things out unless they're ready to have an open discussion? Please enlighten me what are they saying on the streets? Samuian
Fugitive Thaksin : Protesters seizing airports must respect law Yippiee! Can things go any twistier? But this could mean that he is slowly running out of options too - police driven back? Very, very strange... extraordinarily strange!

Crushdepth
Fugitive Thaksin : Protesters seizing airports must respect law Thaksin's latest 'interview' on Youtube is quite entertaining. Who is he to demand others respect democracy and rule of law? He's a criminal fugitive on the run and banned from politics for electoral fraud! The jawdropping arrogance of this man is truely breathtaking. The funniest part is when he says that 'law enforcement must be done'!!!!! For once, I agree. Come home Mr Thaksin, we have a cell waiting for you Edited November 29, 2008 by Crushdepth
soundman
There is a youtube link to the interview on this forum somewhere and I must say I have never seen more hypocritical BS in a while.
wayfarer108
Twisted - asking others to obey the law when he hasn’t; asking others to stand and fight when he has run, twice. The first thought that comes to my mind, in response, is that the Thaksin meme must be eradicated.
girlx
Thaksin is obviously going to be the downfall of this country... if he was smart and cared about Thailand he would just stay out of things.
geriatrickid
There is a youtube link to the interview on this forum somewhere and I must say I have never seen more hypocritical BS in a while. Hypocritical - No argument from me on that, but on presentation superb. He was calm, relaxed and full of "warmth" in stark contrast to the PAD leaders that demonstrate hysterics. English interview, so he was talking to an entirely different audience. He got his point across. For those that know nothing about him or the allegations and conviction (under appeal) he will elicit sympathy as the valiant fellow fighting for democracy. At first glance, seems to be a friendly, kindly chap. There was a mirror in the room, but the smoke wasn't visible. He has good image sense.
