Security At Thai Airports

Featured Replies

As a result of the takeover of the BKK airports, you would think that security would be beefed up at the other major Thai airports. Maybe some heavily armed police at the airport entrance?

At my local international airport, which was overrun with PAD protesters a few months ago, I have not seen any visible increase in airport security at all. Nothing at all. It's almost as if the police/AOT are inviting PAD to occupy the airport.

That worries me. Not only because this airport seems 'open-door' for PAD protesters, but perhaps also 'open-door' for terrorist attack.

I don't like it, but there is nought that I can do about it.

Do you remember not so long ago when the southern troubles were particularly bad. Don Muang airport had heightened security. Well, at least on some entrances. Some entrances had soldiers on them in numbers. Some had soldiers taking no notice of anything, and other entrances had no security at all. Still I guess half arsed security is better than none.

In that case, can I ask my hotel nightwatchman to help out with the airport security? He's used to dealing with local nutters and rabid dogs who try to enter the hotel at night - so he should be quite at home if PAD come calling :o

Haven't all the Phuket PADdites gone to Bkk for their 500 baht/day?

Allegedly.
