Recommended Posts

I have set up the parameters.

VPI 1

VCI 32

PPPoE LLC

But it firmly refuses to connect.

Log howsConnecting PPPoE socket 00.00.00.00.00.00 0000 0x1000d3b8

Cannot get channel number. Transport end point not conencted

Doing disconnect

It could the TOT setup as I asked for 256/128 (supercyber) and appear to have 512/256 (silvercyber), speedwise.

Any ideas??

Thanks

I also found a website with some tips http://adsl.yoll.net but this website seems to be blocked in Thailand.

I think the site has been deleted

Sign up with True instead, I have True hi-speed and router Billion 7100.

The best hi-speed connection in Thailand so far!

Good luck!

True is not available in my area.

So still stck with an adsl carrier, but cannot connect.

Good old TOT.

They have some good tips, I also found a website with some tips http://adsl.yoll.net but this website seems to be blocked in Thailand.

The web site is up again now and I must agree that the inof is excellent for anyone

configuring an adsl line in Thailand.

I think I have found the reason for my problems.

After 3 days of calls I am told that adsl in the whole 038 area is down as the

server is down. Has been down all week!!

No wonder I could not connect.

I big thank you to TOT for taking 3 days to tell me!!

FYI The call centre for TOT is 1100.

Despite the Press 9 for English, be prepared to speak a little Thai,

however the tech staff do speak English.

DaiMai,

Are you using the wireless function of your D-Link DSL-G604T? I'm curious how it works for you. I'm not impressed with the tranfer rates I'm getting. If I set my laptop right next to the G604T, I still only get a 95% signal strength. If it is in the next room, it is about 75%. I never get better than 11 mbps transfer rates, even though is says it is connected at 54 mbps. This is without security enabled. Wondering if there is a problem. Thks.

I'd recommend TRUE. When I signed up, I got a free number, free modem, and great service. Like all services in Thailand, there may be errors. They have a hotline that's very helpful and ususally gets anything within their power done immediately.

Let's see.... first post, a glowing endorsement for a particular company that reads like a radio ad... work for them?

By golly, I do sound like an ad! No, I don't work for them, but I've been using TA for about 2 years now. I started out with dial-up INet, then jumped on the ADSL bandwagon early on. I used their support service so much they must know my name... (or at least username). Nothing worked in the beginning, but I do admire their persistance.

  • 2 weeks later...

I can now confirm that these parameters ARE correct for TOT adsl

VPI 1

VCI 32

PPPoE LLC

logon <your phone number>@supercyber

password <your phone number>

I am told that PPPoA VC-Mux will also work but the PPPoE setting is better.

All my problems were due to TOT, and it has taken 2 WEEKS to get it sorted out.

TOT does not have an SMTP gateway for sending mail!!!!
