2 Foreign Tourists Die Whilst Driving From Bkk To Phuket

My Phuket hotel has just received some new guests who were driven by minibus from BKK to Phuket, due to the closure of the BKK airports. There were 5 minibuses in a 'convoy' and 1 crashed during the journey. Apparently 2 tourists died and the rest were injured.

I have no other details of the nationalities and extent of the injuries. But someone's holiday in Thailand has turned to tragedy.

Sad to hear of that, but the way some of these minibusses are driven hardly surprising.

I think this news concerns a Dutch young lady, traveling with her mother from BKK to Phuket in order to catch a flight out of Thailand.

The lady, 34 years of age, was Eva Meillo. She was employed as an officer by the Dutch National Anti-Fraud Bureau. She also happened to be 5 months pregnant...

Her mother seems to have been unharmed, I don't know who the second victim might be.

Anyway, both are tragic to say the least.

My thoughts are with the family and friends of the victims.
