astute Posted December 4, 2008 Share Posted December 4, 2008 All the best wished to the king. As I understand right; the speech that the king himself wrote will be addressed to the people by his son? So in basic the ceremony will continue as planned where just the crown prince will take his place. The following I don't mean in a negative way, but I believe it can be good for the crown prince to make a large public appearance like this for him and for the people to already get used to this. In The Netherlands we have seen this going on for the past 5 years were the crown prince is taking over tasks of our queen from time to time. Our queen is 71 years old. And it is good to make an easy shift were he (the dutchr/thai crown prince) will gain expertise and experience and the people will start to recognize him more.
