Hi

I read the same article and as I like to try anything new gave it a go.

It adds an additional toolbar but this can be minimized so no real inconvenience. The only thing I have noticed is that any downloads bring up an "are you sure screen" type screen. Does not seem to be interfering with other virus programs so will keep it and see what the long term situation is.

You can always install if you don't like it.

:o

I think sandboxie is a much better program than Zone alarm force field. It only works on your browser but sandboxie works on all programs and has more options. It is also free.

Guys, buy all the snake oil you want.

But something like sandboxie is conceptually much more secure. Sandboxie will just prevent malware from installing on your system - end of story.

ZoneAlarm blah blah, on the other hand, has a shiny product catalog, a pretty box, lots of exclamation marks, and will throw up more "security" dialogs than you can shake a stick at, all without making your machine significantly more secure than it already is. In particular ZA blah blah will not protect you from the one threat that is responsible for almost all infections out there in the wild: Browser exploits. Browser exploits can be defeated only by one of two things: A secure browser, or a sandbox. Making a secure browser is impossible. The sandbox is the best option.
